Guidelines
ꨄ Ephemera and Perihelion are both fixed-dynamic zines. Whether it be in applications, the zine server, or final pieces, please respect that this is a space for bottom Jing Yuan only.ꨄ All applicants are required to be age 18 or above by the time application results are sent on June 7, 2026.ꨄ Contributors are required to have a Discord account, as we will primarily be communicating through the server. You must be willing to make an account if you do not have one upon acceptance into the zine.ꨄ All links within your application must be accessible to the mods. Unfortunately, if we are unable to view your portfolio, your application will not be considered.ꨄ Zine experience is not required in order to apply, and we will not evaluate contributors based on the content they create or enjoy outside of their application. However, should it come to our attention that a contributor engages in hateful behavior within or outside of the project, we will not hesitate to address it and remove them if necessary.ꨄ Applicants are welcome to apply for more than one contributor role, however applicants will only be accepted for one.ꨄ All application materials and contributions to this project must be original works. They may not be traced, plagiarized, or produced with the aid of generative AI.ꨄ In order to comply with payment processor restrictions, we are unable to include certain content within the zines, including but not limited to depictions of graphic gore, non-consensual sex, and adult/minor relationships. You may still include these works in your application as long as appropriate content warnings are given.ꨄ That aside, this zine is a safe space for all of our participants and organizers, and we will not tolerate harassment of any kind.
PAGE ARTISTS
ꨄ Accepted page artists will be expected to create at least one full-colour, fully rendered page, spread, or comic. If you apply to both Ephemera and Perihelion, you may be accepted to create for one or both.ꨄ For each zine you apply to, you will be asked to submit three samples that are finished and polished, which should showcase the style and quality of work you intend to create.ꨄ At least one sample must have an illustrated background, not a solid colour or pattern. Complete illustrations with fully rendered backgrounds are highly recommended in general.ꨄ At least one sample must feature a character from HoYoverse. We strongly encourage at least one sample to include Jing Yuan.ꨄ In addition, you will be asked to submit a portfolio containing 5-15 of your best works. Works submitted as samples may be included in the portfolio, and portfolio pieces may be both SFW and NSFW.ꨄ NSFW pieces within your portfolio and any content warnings in your application must be specified where relevant.
MERCH ARTISTS
ꨄ Accepted merch artists will be expected to create at least two physical or digital merch items. If more than one of your pitches is approved by the mods, you may be able to opt in to creating two pieces of merch. NSFW merch will be digital only.ꨄ You will be asked to submit three samples that are finished and polished, which should showcase the style, quality, and type of merch you intend to create.ꨄ At least one sample must feature a character from HoYoverse. We strongly encourage at least one sample to include Jing Yuan.ꨄ In addition, you will be asked to submit a portfolio containing 5-15 of your best works. Works submitted as samples may be included in the portfolio, and portfolio pieces may be both SFW and NSFW.ꨄ NSFW pieces within your portfolio and any content warnings in your application must be specified where relevant.
FIC WRITERS
ꨄ Accepted fic writers will be expected to create at least one complete, standalone fic with a wordcount of 1k–2k words. If you apply to both Ephemera and Perihelion, you may be accepted to create for one or both.ꨄ For each zine you apply to, you will be asked to submit three samples that are finished and polished, which should showcase the style and quality of work you intend to create.ꨄ At least one sample must be complete with a wordcount of 1k–2k words. For the other two samples, excerpts from longer works are accepted. No single sample should exceed 3k words.ꨄ At least one sample must feature a character from HoYoverse. We strongly encourage at least one sample to include Jing Yuan.ꨄ Any content warnings in your application must be specified where relevant.
ALTERNATIVE WRITERS
ꨄ Accepted alternative writers will be expected to create at least one complete, standalone alternative work. Poetry will have a word count of 100-500 words while news articles, interview transcripts, and epistolary formats may go up to 1k words. If you apply to both Ephemera and Perihelion, you may be accepted to create for one or both.ꨄ For each zine you apply to, you will be asked to submit three samples that are finished and polished, which should showcase the style, quality, and type of alternative work you intend to create.ꨄ At least one sample must be complete with a wordcount of up to 1k words. For the other two samples, excerpts from longer works are accepted. No single sample should exceed 3k words.ꨄ At least one sample must feature a character from HoYoverse. We strongly encourage at least one sample to include Jing Yuan.ꨄ Any content warnings in your application must be specified where relevant.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ꨄ What does SFW content entail for a fixed-dynamic zine? Do I have to portray Jing Yuan in a particular way?
As long as the creative intention is in the spirit of the zine, contributors are free to make whatever they wish. Our goal is to be a safe space for bottom Jing Yuan lovers with no further restrictions.ꨄ Are Ephemera and Perihelion exclusively ship-centric or will solo Jing Yuan content be accepted?
Solo Jing Yuan content will be accepted for both the SFW and NSFW zines as long as it is created with bottom Jing Yuan in mind. However, we will ask that contributors pitch at least one non-solo idea for the sake of variety.ꨄ Will X ship be allowed?
Aside from depictions of adult/minor relationships, which we are unable to include, all Jing Yuan ships of the appropriate dynamic are encouraged in these zines.ꨄ How will top/bottom dynamics be considered for poly ships?
As long as bottom Jing Yuan is the central focus of the piece, other aspects of poly ships are free to interpretation.ꨄ Can multiple contributors create content of the same ship or will it be a first-come first-serve situation?
Repeat ships will certainly be allowed. However, to the extent that our application pool permits, we would like to showcase a variety of different Jing Yuan ships.ꨄ What about switch dynamics?
Versatile shippers are more than welcome to apply to the zine, but all zine creations must be made with respect to bottom Jing Yuan only. In addition, contributors will be expected not to tag opposing dynamics on their works for this zine or to discuss them in the zine server.ꨄ Can I create content with darker themes?
Unfortunately, we are unable to include certain content within the zines, as the sites and payment processors we will be using have imposed recent restrictions on NSFW products. Any content you create or enjoy outside of the project, hateful behavior and plagiarism aside, will not affect your standing.ꨄ Can I use leaked material in my piece?
Please only base your contribution off content that was officially released. If you want to modify your idea later in the creation period as the game is updated, you are free to do so.
